We all know a hug is an obvious sign that your man’s keen on you, but what about the small, subtle actions that prove you’re his Miss Right and not just his Miss Right Now?
Relationships expert Sam Van Rood say, “If you know what to look for, you can read men’s body language like an open book.” So what are your boyfriend’s actions telling you?
When he’s watching TV
If you can tear your eyes away from Sawyer in Lost, check out your man’s hand movements. Sam says, “This could be a real giveaway because his concentration is on the TV, not on what his body is doing. If, without thinking, he interlinks his fingers with yours, he’s subconsciously saying that he wants to be emotionally interconnected with you. An even better sign is if he takes your hand and pulls it close to him – it’s a protective gesture.”
When he’s with friends
Meeting each other’s friends is a great test of his feelings. Sam say, “It’s no surprise that putting his arm around your waist means he’s telling the lads, ‘She’s all mine’, but if he places it around your shoulder it shows a deep desire to take care of you. And a clear indicator that he wants you in his life is if he sits close enough for your hips to be touching.”
When you go back to his
You may want him to have candles, dinner and soft music on the go when you first visit his pad, but the truth is that it’s far more telling if he hasn’t made much of an effort. Sam say, “Although it may be slightly off-putting that his bedroom is a mess, it actually shows two things: firstly, that he’s a genuine guy who’s not playing games and, secondly, that he’s comfortable being around you.”
When you’re out to dinner
Stop worrying about spinach in your teeth and check out what his eating habits say about his feelings. “If he starts moving plates and glasses around, it’s a sign he’s breaking down the barriers between you,” explains Sam. “Also, when a man fancies you, blood rushes to certain parts of his body, including his lips. If he’s sipping his drink and touching his mouth frequently, it’s a clear sign he’s into you. Finally, a man who rolls up his sleeves or loosens his tie wants to get you into the bedroom!”
When he’s shopping
It’s not just about what he buys you, Sam say, “Keep an eye on his footwork when you hit the shops together. If he’s mirroring your pace and you’re both stepping in sync, it’s a sign of compatibility. He may not realize it, but his body is telling you he’s in tune with you.”
